Old Money New Money 3-D Animatic Edits

3-D Camera Techniques - 3/17/13

Edits:
1- Title is no longer cropped.
2- Animated the dollar signs.
3- Took out the first shot.
4- Got a second voice.
5- Connected goose to the story better with an extra shot.
6- Made the characters face each other while talking.
7- Animated the tree to look like its growing.
8- Kept the grave in the shot where the car pulls up.
9- Showed amount on check.
10- Showed N's reaction to the check.
11- Gave N. what he deserved.
12- Fixed lighting in panel 2.
13- Used a side by side comparison. (split screen)

Character Final Edits + Turntable

3-D Character Rigging - 3/15/13

Edits:
1- Cut down on space taken up by texture sheets.
2- Changed labels to game mesh and sculpt.
3- Added normal map to game mesh.
4- Added description.
5- Added gender.
6- Turned head more towards the camera.
7- Gave character a facial expression.
8- Made a cyclorama.
9- Made eyes glow slightly.
10- Turned up the directional light and added an area light.
11- Added polycount.
12- Added close ups.
13- Made Gradient in background stand out more.

Sculpt Edits

3-D Character Modeling - 2/14/13

Edits:
1- Smoothed the wings and made the points sharper.
2- Matched the face to the reference better and made better eyebrows.
3- Re-made the coat, aligned buttons better, more wrinkles, sharper points, straighter collar.
4- Re-made the shorts, better geometry, more wrinkles, slightly longer.
5- Re-made fang, sharper point, better shape, sticks out at a better angle.
6- Re-made horns, Sharper points, more defined shape.
7- Re-made hair, better base mesh, no longer goes through geometry of horns and wings, more detail.
8- Thinner fingers, sharper claws, added details such as wrinkles, veins, and knuckles.
9- Made elbow and knee talons sharper, as well as the claws on the toes and the ends of the tail.
10- Fixed some of the muscle tone on the body.

Old Money New Money Stroyboard - Revised

3-D Camera Techniques - 2/4/13

1- Establishing Shot Ext. Shows a forest with a long path running through it.
2- Two Shot Ext. Two boys (N. and O.) are walking along the path in the forest together, talking.
3- Wide Shot Ext. The two boys spot something shimmering in the distance.
4- Full Shot Ext. O. reaches for the shiny object on the ground.
5- Close Shot Hand Ext. Shows the boys' P.O.V. as they look at the item they have found and they realize is a golden acorn.
6- Medium Close Up Shot Ext. N. reacts to the acorn with excitement, he wants to sell it right away.
7- Two Shot Ext. N. reaches for the acorn but O. stops him because he has a better idea.
8A- Wide Shot Ext. Shows gardening tools laying all over the ground then pans up.
8B- Two Shot Ext. Pans into a shot of the boys' faces as O. describes his plan to N. (N. doesn't like the idea.)
9- Two Shot Ext. N. storms off because he doesn't want to work, O. gets started on planting the acorn.
10- Wide Shot Ext. N. continues through the forest and happens upon the golden goose.
11- Medium Close Up Shot Ext. This time N. knows he'll be rich and he gets excited. The scene then cross fades.
12- Full Shot Ext. Fades into a few years later, O. is older now and has obviously been working hard, the acorn has created a sapling for a money tree.
13- Medium Full Shot Ext. N. is living in the lime-light and having fun, but the golden goose is living in very poor conditions. The scene then cross fades.
14- Wide Shot Ext. Fades through more time and O. is still working hard and his money tree is starting to look pretty good, but N. decides to come by and brag about how much better he is doing without having to do as much work. The scene then does another cross fade.
15- Wide Shot Ext. Fades into O. in his older years, the money tree is now quite profitable and O. no longer needs to do as much work maintaining it. In his leisure, O. can't help but wonder what has become of his old friend N.
16A- Close Shot Grave Ext. Shows a close up of a grave marked for the golden goose. The Scene then zooms out.
16B- Wide Shot Ext. Zooms out to reveal N. who's in pretty bad shape, the goose is gone and he has nothing left.
17- Wide Shot Ext. A limo pulls up behind N. as he mourns the loss of his goose.
18- Wide Shot Ext. N. looks to the limo and O. pops out to offer his condolences and a little bit of money to N.

Character Bio and Reference

3-D Character Modeling - 1/28/13

Bio
Name: Queen Marcion La Seya (A.K.A. Marci)
Gender: Female
Age: 3,000 yrs
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 150 lbs
Description: Marci is the queen of all demons. Marci is a warrior, she has to be strong in order to keep the other demons in line. Her main weapon is her claws and her arms are weighted in favor of that. Marci is prideful but easy to get along with. She doesn't have much interest in being a queen but took the throne anyways in order to achieve her own goals. Marci has long curly brown hair, red eyes, and long fangs, one of which hangs out the side of her mouth. Aside from her claws, Marci also has sharp talons on her arms and legs and a spiked tail. Marci can be very intimidating when she wants to, but she makes a great friend to those she cares about.

1- Two Shot Ext. Two boys (N. and O.) are walking through the forest casually talking with one another.
2- Wide Shot Ext. As the two boys continue through the forest they spot something glimmering in the distance.
3- Medium Shot Ext. O. crouches down to pick up the item that they saw.
4- Close Up Shot Ext. The Two boys take a closer look at what they've found and realize it's a golden acorn.
5- Two Shot Ext. N. gets excited and wants to go sell the acorn, O. tells him to wait, he has a better idea.
6- Two Shot Ext. O. explains his idea to N. about planting the acorn so it will grow and make them more money, N. has no interest in doing all that work and leaves.
7- Full Shot Ext. N. is gone and O. waits behind to do all the work himself.
8- Medium Full Shot Ext. N. bitterly walks on, not wanting to work with O. at all.
9- Wide Shot Ext. N. ends up walking until he happens to run into the goose that lays the golden eggs.
10- Fade
11-Full Shot Ext. The scene fades into several years later with O. still tending to the tree he planted.
12- Wide Shot Ext. N. several years later, showing off his fortune and living the high life.
13- Two Shot Ext. N. shows up to show off what he's got to O. who still only has a sapling.
14- Fade
15- Full Shot Ext. Fades into several more years later, N. is broke, the golden goose is dead and he has nothing left.
16- Full Shot Ext. O. is relaxing, the money tree has matured nicely and O. has more money than he needs.
17-Extreme Wide Shot Ext. N. is wallowing in O's shadow, O's hard work has paid off, N. is left with nothing.
